Web Optimization Services – Are they worth it

If you have a website for business purposes or even a personal endeavor of some other kind, you might want to look into Web Optimization Services. These types of industry services can help web-based businesses increase their sales. They offer tracking services with a variety of features which will enable you to see how many hits your site is receiving and also where your site is appearing in search engine results. Web Optimization Services can also give you advice on how to improve your website in those areas, if necessary.

Keywords are words and phrases that specifically relate to the subject matter and purpose of your website. They define your website and play a huge part in search engine results. It is imperative that you incorporate keywords into your web pages so that when someone does an internet search, your website will appear on the pages of the resulting links. If your business deals with remodeling, for example, be sure to incorporate the words and phrases that relate to that subject into your website, as many times as you can.

Web Optimization Services will offer you an analysis of your website and advise you which areas need enhancements. They will not only show you how to make sure that your website is found with the use of keywords and phrases, but also how to ensure that it ranks high on all of the search results pages.

Seedegy.com offers a free ranking report. Click on the Free Ranking Report link in the Services area on their home page and then fill out the electronic form. They will, in turn, let you know how your website ranks based on the information you have supplied for free. They also offer other utilities such as Keyword Research and Individual Page Development. Seedegy.com even offers a Web Design service. Use their electronic form to let them know what the goals of your website are, who your target audience is and what kind of budget you are working with. They will send you a free quote for their web development service within 1 day! Their website is very user friendly with easy to understand explanations of all of their web optimization services.

Utilizing a Web Optimization Service such as Seedegy.com can greatly increase traffic to your website. Let’s face it, not everyone is savvy in the marketing area, which is one of the most important undertakings when developing and publishing your website. You’ve got to get your ‘name’ out there and visible on those search results pages so that you can benefit from the success of your business. A Web Optimization Service is a great way to assist you in accomplishing that goal.

Valuable Niche Markets

If you are attempting to start a business online or if you are simply trying to increase your traffic and revenue, focusing on a niche market can give you the edge that you need in order to reach the high goals that you have most assuredly set for yourself. There are so many different niches in the overall market that any web site on any topic can find a niche and fill it. When you specialize, you are more likely to succeed.

The most powerful tactic in the history of warfare is the classic divide and conquer routine. You can make an obscene amount of money if you can take over one niche market and then another and another. Focusing on smaller groups of people and dominating their needs in a particular area is the best way to effectively spend your resources.

When you attempt to evaluate your market keep in mind that there are people in your market that you wouldn’t normally associate with it. There are a small number of people who live in the suburbs who would like to wear cowboy boots. If you can target your products at groups such as these you are more likely to sell to them than someone who would target the cowboy boots to… well.. cowboys.

Finding niche markets can be a daunting task. Basically, you can ask yourself a few questions that will assist you in finding the niche market that is right for you.

1. What experience do you have with the products that you are selling? If you are an expert in the field of your sales, you are more likely to succeed than most. Try to come up with the reason that you got interested in the products that you sell. Figure out what kind of people are most likely to be interested in your products and then try to come up with some groups that aren’t so quickly thought of but that may find it fashionable or interesting to purchase your products.

2. Who was the product that you are selling designed for? Cowboy boots were designed for cowboys. There are people who have never stepped foot on a farm who will wear cowboy boots, but they were designed for cowboys. Try to think of what group of people the product was designed for and what other groups can be cut out of the same mold. I.E. country folks, suburbanites, city dwellers, inter-city dwellers. You are not as likely to sell cowboy boots to inter-city people as you are to suburbanites.

3. Are any of these groups already targeted for your product? If somebody is already targeting the niche that you came up with, you may be able to decipher whether or not there is still room in that market for you. If your competition has been selling the cowboy boots like hot cakes in the suburbs there may still be time for you to make some money off of them.

4. Can you target your niche better than anyone else? If there are already companies selling your product to the group that you wanted to select as your niche market, you still may be able to be the most successful. Just because you are not the first doesn’t mean that you can’t be the best. If you can target a group of people better than anyone else due to some experience, tendency, or inborn characteristic, go for it. Competition is important, without competition nobody would ever become successful.

5. How well can you optimize your niche for search engines? You may be able to come up with an excellent niche market that you can provide for better than anyone else. This niche may be completely original, and you may have the resources necessary to really get it off the ground. But does it have the potential to top any search result sheet? Will anyone ever come looking for it? If not you may have to start off by advertising on pay per click advertising services such as adwords before you get a chance to really thrive on your fresh new niche market.

If your niche market can fill up a few slots for key words you are in better shape than most. It is normally very difficult to come up with good, comprehensive key words for your web pages. The best situation that you can encounter is one in which your key words are more or less laid out for you. If you have a catchy little gimmick or a highly targeted niche market you should be able to come up with a good set of relevant key words. Having relevant key words is most of the battle in the whole SEO game. Any SEO that can come up with a good, comprehensive list of key words will probably do quite well in the world of business.

Visitors Leave After Seeing My Home Page – Aye – Carumba

One of the keys to a profitable web site is analyzing your hits to visitor ratio. What does it mean if you have a low hit to visitor ratio? This article provides the answer

No Depth

An effective means for analyzing web site traffic is to look at the number of hits per visitor for a time period. To do this, you simply divide the number of hits by the number of visitors for the time period in question. Time periods can be a day, week, month or quarter of a year. Don’t look at any time smaller than a day as the data may not create an accurate picture of the traffic.

Assume you have the best damn dang hair net site on the net. You have over 1,000 hair nets of every variation, color, material and weave. For those of you not “in the know”, a hair net is one of those things people working in fast food places have to wear. I have no idea why, but I am sure there was a lawsuit once that makes complete and total sense.

Anyway, a site with over 1,000 hair nets should have a massive number of pages. Logically, every visitor to the site should click through more than a few pages while looking for the perfect specimen. Unfortunately, you find the server stats tell a different story.

In reviewing server stats, you learn that on average the site receives 5,000 visitors a day and 10,000 hits. Dividing hits by visitors, you discover to your dismay each visitor is looking at only two pages on average. This information is supported by the fact you’re only averaging a few sales a day. Aye, Carumba!

There are a few possible reasons for this poor performance:

1. Slow Site: A site with 1,000 products is going to require a very careful database design. I would guess 70 percent of database sites are fatally slow. By fatally, I mean they load so slowly that most dial-up users can’t navigate in the site. We are talking 30 to 40 second page load times. If you have this problem, you are immediately losing the 45 percent of people using dial-up.

2. Click Fraud: If you are running a PPC campaign, you must track the clicks in the campaign. A low hit to visitor ratio can often mean your PPC ads are being artificially clicked as such clickers rarely venture into the internal pages of a site.

3. Poor Advertising: This one is purely your fault. Your advertising must focus on keywords that are relevant to your site. If you are selling hair nets, don’t place ads under “hair styling.” If you do, people will click your ad, see hair nets and immediately leave. Know your limitations!

There can be a variety of reasons for low hit to visitor ratios. More often than not, slow load times are the answer. If the site is fast, then you need to dig deeper so you can figure out a way to make your visitors do the same.

Wholesale Video Game Market

Home video game consoles have come a long way from the original 8-bit systems. One huge benefit to the wholesale industry is the console wars, and the continual release of new video games, accessories, and even entire game systems. These console wars and new releases mean the games and systems replaced are now the hottest commodities on the wholesale market. Here is a quick guide to the wholesale video game world by system.

Let’s begin with an overview of the world of video games. There are three major console players: Nintendo, Microsoft, and the largest one, Sony. Each company has released what are now called third generation consoles. These consoles are the Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Prior to the third generation consoles, gamers had Nintendo’s GameCube, Microsoft’s Xbox, and Sony’s PlayStation 2 to keep their thumbs in shape. The games and accessories of these second generation consoles are what primarily make up the wholesale video game market today. One key aspect to keeping these wholesale games and overstock video game accessories in value is backward compatibility. Backward compatibility is the ability of older video games and accessories, such as controllers and memory cards, to interface with newer generation consoles.

Nintendo GameCube

The saving grace of the Nintendo GameCube games and accessories are backward compatible with the Nintendo Wii. Wholesale retailers can capitalize on the fact the Nintendo GameCube, and Wii appeal to younger game players, so customers of wholesale GameCube games are less concerned with the lack of graphics and innovation. Additionally, Nintendo’s GameCube controller and memory card is compatible with the new generation Wii, and a requirement for some games’ backward compatibility.

Top selling wholesale video game titles for the Nintendo GameCube include Animal Crossing, Super Monkey Ball, and anything Super Mario or Zelda franchise related. Parents will appreciate the general nonviolent nature of Nintendo GameCube games, and therefore the shelf-life for wholesale accessories and games is long. Purchase of the Nintendo GameCube at wholesale prices is the best first console for children aged six and above, and for those adults who still have a child at heart.

Microsoft Xbox

Xbox is the least backward compatible console to its third generation counterpart. In typical Microsoft fashion, Xbox 360 players must download a patch for individual Xbox games they desire to play on the Xbox 360. Also, since memory cards are almost unnecessary to save progress, there is no sense to install the Xbox’s now dwarfed 10GB hard drive in place of the Xbox 360′s 20GB or even 120GB hard drive. Popular titles for the Xbox franchise continue to be the Halo series and EA Sports titles, all of which can be found readily available in wholesale video game bargain bins. Wholesale Xbox consoles and games will appeal most to late comers in the violent and action packed video game genres, and those unwilling to spring for the hefty price tag of the Xbox 360.

PlayStation 2

Wholesale PlayStation 2 consoles, games, and accessories are the best solution for wholesale video game retailers. First, the price is much more stable because of the near complete backward compatibility of the wholesale PlayStation 2 games on the new third generation PlayStation 3. Also, the PlayStation 2 is the only second generation console still receiving support; new game titles and accessories are released in conjunction with the same title release for the third generation consoles. The next biggest advantage of wholesale PlayStation 2 games and accessories is the vastness of its catalog and reach. Over 120 million consoles have sold worldwide and game titles range from the cutesy Lego series for kids to the hard core action packed Call of Duty franchise. The shelf-life and profit margin is the highest for wholesale PlayStation 2 games and accessories.

eCommerce Web Site Building – Where Do I Start

Building a web site isn’t something that is really cut and dry. There’s a huge variety of products and services that can either help you get your web site where you want it or simply confuse you. It’s also important that you make the right choices upfront so that you don’t end up having to restructure your whole web site because of some problem in your design layout. The level of time investment neccessary for mastery in a lot of these software packages can range from little to a VERY significant amount. Because of this I feel it’s important to be lead in the “right” direction to make sure you don’t spend time in the wrong areas, or learning some software that might not be all that useful for you later on (*coughs* Frontpage *coughs*).

Where you should start greatly depends on what you plan on attempting to do, and how deep you’re going to dive in. For a moderately professional, clean looking web site without a lot of automation or intensive animated graphics you can probably get by with some basic knowledge of html, ability with a good WYSIWYG editor, and an image editting program. On the other hand, if you’re someone that’s looking to build something that will really wow your audience then you might consider spending some major time and developing some animation skills with a program like Macromedia Flash. I personally always spring for what I believe will bring me the greatest amount of profit with a minimal amount of effort, and because of this I usually end up spending all of my time diving in deeper with ONLY my WYSIWYG HTML editor, and my image editor.

## What is a “WYSIWYG” editor? ##
A WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor is what allows you to get by with minimal knowledge of HTML. Yes, that means you don’t have to know EVERYTHING about HTML to have a decent looking website. When you use a WYSIWYG editor it interprets what you’re doing (inserting an image for example) as being a certain series of HTML tags with attributes, and does it for you… Thus, what you see on your screen is what you get. Instead of seeing a bunch of HTML code in text format, you’ll mostly see what will actually show up in your browser once your web site is up WHILE you’re making it. I highly recommend using the latest version of dreamweaver — it is well-known as one of the best HTML editors by general consensus. Dreamweaver’s interface is very friendly, has a built in FTP client, and is specifically built to be flexible enough to suit both the coder and the everyday amatuer webmaster.

## Image editing? What do I need that for? ##
Okay, let’s be realistic here: If you’re going to make a professional *appearing* web site it’s important that you can make some basic, decent looking graphics. There’s a lot of graphics problems that can truly get the job done, but as far as power and flexibility goes I recommend Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop definitely takes some time getting used to, but in the end it’s VERY rewarding. I’ve ended up using my knowledge of Photoshop to make not only graphics for multiple web sites, but also touched up portraits, made business cards, flyers, and other online advertisments such as banners. Infact, I’ve used it for everything except animation… But it also comes with Adobe Imageready which is very good with animation. This software is amazing, and if you’re going to learn ANY image editing software I recommend you start with Photoshop because of it’s widerange of overall… usefulness!

## Let’s get me some sales! ##
Kick off your new web site you’ve gotten up from your knowledge of webmastering and image editing with a few new sales… Sounds like a plan? Well a great way to do that quickly is with pay-per-click advertising. BUT WAIT! Doesn’t that cost money? Well… Yes. But with the tools brought to us by some of the biggest pay-per-click advertisers out there we should be able to make a good evaluation of how much profit we’re going to make without much investment upfront.

The big question behind pay-per-click advertising is whether or not it’s worth the cash when you can simply get traffic from regular search engine ranking (otherwise known as organic traffic). Afterall, there are plenty of companies out there that promise to help get you all the traffic you need through optimizing your web site for organic ranking. The answer to this question is quite simple: profit is profit. Through conversion tracking tools such as those offered by Yahoo! Search Marketing and Google Adwords anyone can calculate exactly what their profit is after cost of PPC advertising is taken out. In my opinion, Google Adwords has the most user-friendly interface among the PPC advertisers. Google Adword’s interface makes it very easy to see which keywords are pulling you in the most sales, and which ones aren’t even worth your advertising money.

Let us not forget, however, that in order to make those conversions we’re going to be needing a shopping cart! There’s a lot of diverse software packages out there you can use, but I’ve been using Mal’s E-Commerce Free shopping cart for a number of years with great success. The cart’s server is hosted on their machines so that means you not only get away with not having to pay for the software itself, but you get out of having to buy an SSL security ticket too! Nothing’s a better bargain than free, eh?

## Getting those sales leads you’ve been building up to BUY! ##
Once you’ve scored a few sales it would probably be a good idea to start using some kind of lead management services. I highly recommend the use of autoresponders for this purpose. Autoresponders are, essentially, a newsletter sign-up that allows you to strategically determine what you want to send each lead after a certain alotted amount of time. For example, let’s say someone visits your web site and you offer them a free newsletter. If you were selling an ebook on some very complicated topic, you might consider sending them only information on the most basic concepts at first to get them interested. Slowly but surely, you can turn those visitors that might have left your web site and never have returned into some serious revenue!

As far as autoresponders go, I highly recommend the use of Aweber. Their customer service is superb (seriously, these guys really know their stuff!) and can be contacted at any point during the business day via online chat or phone. They also offer tons of free information, and guides on making the most of their services. Check out their month long free trial at http://www.getaweber.com/ .
